MEE & de Wering is a care organization that helps people that are in need of (temporary) support, to optimally participate within our society. One of their activities is “Jongerenwerk” in Den Helder.
In the first week of May 2021 we created a VR experience together with youngsters from Den Helder on the subject of carrying knives. The project was executed in collaboration with Mee & de Wering Jongerenwerk, in collaboration with cultural center Triade, and partner Gamessolutionlab in Eindhoven.
In that week youngsters contributed in multiple ways to the game: creating the story, acting out characters, voice acting, creating visuals, music and sound effects. At the end of the week we created a playable experience that made other youths think about why it is stupid to carry a knife.
ImproVive helped create the concept together with Gamesolutionlab. ImproVive also delivered the software environment that made it possible to create a game within a week. During the week we were there to help create and process the content and integrate it into a full experience. Gamesolutionlab managed the storyline and content creation process.
Together with MEE & de Wering and Gamesolutionlab we want to involve more organisations in further developing the VR experience for other subjects within youth work. Here you can find more information on how to join.
